Traditional Mangalore/Udupi Fish Curry

MANGALORE FISH CURRY IN CLAY POT 


'Mangalore' or ' Mangalure' also known as ''Kudla'' is one of the most beautiful coastal city in India. Mangalore as a very unique culture & traditions.It is also well known for its cuisines one of which is a fish curry.May be because it is a coastal city fish is a staple food of most of the people.
The recipe I am sharing is a traditional fish curry prepared in the clay pot is passed from generations to generations.
Ingredients
Dry Red Chillie (long 15&Short 10)
Coriander Seeds 2tbsp
Fenugreek seeds 1tsp
Pepper Corns 7-8
Cumin seeds 2tsp
 Onion 1/2
Garlic cloves 4-5
Turmeric powder 1tsp
Curry leaves 8-10
Tamarind lemon size
Coconut Grated 2cup
Salt as per taste
Chopped Ginger,chilli,tomato, Onion
Fish 4-5 (of ur choice)

Method
# Take a fresh fish because fresh fish hences the taste of the dish.
 Clean and cut the fish & keep it ready.
# Dry Roast all the spices like Dry Red Chillie,Coriander Seeds,Fenugreek seeds,Pepper Corns,Cumin seeds, Onion, Garlic, Curry leaves, Tamarind, Salt as per taste.
# Transfer it to Mixie.
# Dry roast coconut just to warm you.
# Transfer it to Mixie.
# Grind into fine paste adding little water.
# Keep clay pot or any vessel on flame pour masala add chopped onion, tomato, ginger, chilli & boil the masala.
# Once it started boiling add cleaned & cut fish.
# Close the lid and cook for 10mins in low flame.
# Fish Curry Is Ready To Serve.
